Web Of Trust (WOT) Launches Trust Network

Here’s a disturbing statistic for probloggers:
Seventy percent of shoppers abandon their online orders because they lack trust.
One of the most important things that a professional blogger or an online seller should have is the trust of his readers/customers; it’s extremely hard to attain and just as easy to destroy.
If you’ve been blogging or selling items online for a long time, then most of your readers will already have invested a lot of their time (and possible money) to read your thoughts and follow your tips and advises. However, the problem stems from new readers: how do they know that you’re a trustworthy blogger and not some ranting, rumor mongering one?
What a professional blogger needs is a system that allows people to rate him and that rating be seen by other readers. This is where Web Of Trust (WOT) comes in the picture.
“WOT Services Ltd, the company behind the reputation rating service Web of Trust, launched the Community Trust Network (CTN), a program that gives websites with superior reputations tools to publicize their trustworthiness and to collect ratings and feedback in a neutral way. The end result for website owners is that they attract new visitors, improve their reputation, and boost sales by increasing confidence and trust.”

As a user, I’ve been using WOT as a Firefox AddOn for quite some time now, as a problogger with a good WOT rating, more people will come to my site since a lot of previous readers or customers rated me highly. Membership prices begin at $19.90 per month for non-commercial sites. There is a free 30-day trial for new customers.
