Angela Booth’s Sell Your Writing Online Now Training Helps Print Journalists to Transition

Newspapers and magazines are fighting for their survival, and as they shrink and collapse, print journalists are making the transition to Web writing. Angela Booth’s Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON) training at http://sellwritingnow.com/Home/training.html is helping these writers to find new opportunities on the Web.

Angela Booth believes that the Web is packed with money-making opportunities for journalists who have been laid off, as long as they know how and where to look. “Journalists use the Web as a research tool,” she said. “This is great because they’re familiar with the online world, but they often don’t realize the many income-generating opportunities the Web offers them. Web writing jobs available today include blogging, writing Web content, and writing online marketing material.”

She said that in addition to looking for writing jobs online, many former journalists are starting online businesses. Some sell their writing services, and collaborate with former colleagues so that they can take on larger projects. Others create Web sites to sell products and services.

A common concern for these writers starting online businesses is whether now is a good time. Angela says she tells them: “Now is the best time, because you can start a business practically for free; there are few startup costs.”

She recommends that print journalists making the transition to Web writing get training, and she’s found that some employers are willing to pay for training as part of a severance package. She said that there are many Web courses on offer, and for journalists who want to pursue online training, she offers Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON).

She says: “Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON) is complete training in Web writing. Experienced writers can quickly replace their full-time income, working from home, and working the hours they choose.”
