Blog Power Hits Agrarian Reform Secretary Pangandaman

The worst thing you can do right now is ask (on national newspaper at that) bloggers to cease and desist writing sweet nothings on their blogs. For Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, his biggest mistake was placing this request on paper, making it look like their family has been condemned by Filipino bloggers on that much publicized Valley Golf Country Club brawl.

Thanks to the events narrated to the point by Bambee Dela Paz, daughter of the victimized Dela Paz clan, everyone got a clear picture of what really happened. And being a politician, it is no secret that some people in office abuse their power. So for Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, all the more heat was hurled on him being a close ally of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The latest news is that the Dela Pazes and the Pangadamans have filed counter lawsuits. On whether the blogs would be used as evidence is one thing but expect something dirty to suffice.

As for Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, he should note that the more your react, the more bloggers would do the opposite. A comment on a blog site is welcome but publicly stating that is a big boo boo. It only means the bloggers locally and internationally are getting the job done.

Well that is a lesson that many of us can charge to experience. Keep quiet and let the issue take its toll.

If you haven’t read it yet, here is Bambee’s blog post over at Blogspot.
