Death Penalty for Blogging?

With this crazy idea, we all know the power of blogging. Not all parts of the world are pretty much appreciative of blogging. In fact they despise it. Your choice of words will make a difference and apparently for countries like Iran who do not appreciate the essence of blogging, you may eventually find yourself being given the death penalty if you are not careful!
On Wednesday, Iranian members of parliament voted to discuss a draft bill that seeks to “toughen punishment for disturbing mental security in society.” The text of the bill would add, “establishing websites and weblogs promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy,” to the list of crimes punishable by death.
In recent years, some Iranian bloggers have been sent to jail and many have had their sites filtered. If the Iranian parliament approves this draft bill, bloggers fear they could be legally executed as criminals. No one has defined what it means to “disturb mental security in society”.
Now from standpoint, I can understand the message they are trying to arrive it. Still, I think its kinda going a bit overboard considering blogging is supposedly a talent or a pastime that encourages people to share the wealth of information online.
For the daring people who want to make issues, well this should serve as a warning. Blogging is free but it can put you in trouble especially if you are in unchartered waters such as Iran.
