Familarize yourself With WordPress
If you would be asked what best blogging platform you can use today, chances are majority would reply WordPress. Honestly, I had no idea what WordPress was way back. All I was aware of was Blogspot and the various blogging features of social networking sites such as Friendster and Multiply. When I first logged into WordPress, I must say the transition was not that hard. They were practically the same!
Thanks to the visual editor, I was able to blog instantly. Formatting wasn’t that hard with WordPress thanks to the visual editor option but later on, I had to learn the html way of blogging. The reason for this was the constant crashing of my compose mode posts to which I could only shake my head when I get the usual error that “Windows Encountered a Serious Error”.
When I turned off the visual editor in WordPress, everything went on smoothly. But when it came to formatting and placing pictures I had to familiarize myself with the button commands on top of the window field. Here are some of what I picked up:
(I had to use parentheses for the actual commands to come out. Just substitute them with < and >.)
- (center)(/center) – Center what you want to place like images or words
- (li)(/li) – Bullets (Normal)
- (ol)(li)(/li)(/ol) – Numbered Bullets
- (blockquote)(/blockquote) – Quotations
- (img)(/img) – image (but usually has another window popping out)
- (em)(/em) – Italics
- (strong)(/strong) – Bold
As you can see, it all starts with the (<>) and ends with the (“<"/">“). Now how hard can that be in WordPress Blogging?
